Child of the Tattered Crown

This illustration is one of my proudest pieces, created after a second, more refined pass on the designs for both the Prince and my interpretation of the King in Yellow. My goal was to evoke a sense of possessive protection entwined with underlying unease. I aimed for a painterly aesthetic while drawing from the sparse but evocative descriptions of the King in Yellow found in the original text. The result is a visual interpretation that blends atmospheric tension with character-driven storytelling.
