A collection of promotional illustrations and character artwork created around a fictional cabaret-inspired performance. The project explores theatrical staging, character-driven storytelling, and the use of color and lighting to create a cohesive visual identity across multiple pieces.
The series centers around two performers with contrasting personalities, using pose, expression, and silhouette to communicate their roles while maintaining a shared visual language. I wanted each illustration to feel like a frame pulled from a larger stage production, with curtains, spotlighting, and neon-inspired elements reinforcing the performance theme.
Alongside the finished character illustrations, this project also includes the stage environment used throughout the series. Creating a reusable background allowed me to focus on character presentation while ensuring visual consistency across the collection. The limited palette of pinks, reds, and magentas was chosen to evoke a romantic nightclub atmosphere while unifying the individual pieces.
